Reviews and Ratings
The hotel has everything you need like tea, coffee, and a hairdryer in the room. The room itself was a bit dated and could do with decorating, but it was spacious enough for our boys to play on the floor. However, there were some cleanliness issues with the fan in the bathroom covered in months of dust, filth in the tray where the teas and coffees were kept, stains on the bed sheets, marks on the walls, stains on the carpet, and a noticeable stench coming from the washbasin that I had to address myself with bleach.
The hotel offers incredibly basic and dated rooms, but they are very clean and fresh. The service is excellent, with welcoming and helpful staff, though some areas need cleaning. The location is convenient with easy access to Gretna Green and the motorway. The dining experience could be improved in terms of quality and delivery time. Overall, good value for money with some areas needing attention.
The hotel offers basic rooms that could do with a bit more cleaning but were enjoyed by all, especially our two grandchildren. The lighting and signage to access the hotel car park was pretty bad. The service, while accommodating, could benefit from a customer service course, especially around 3 am. The location was perfect for a one-night stopover and close to the Carlisle area for house viewing or attending a friend's wedding. The dining options were poor, with limited breakfast choices. Overall, it was a convenient stay for us, worthy of a pit stop on our journey.
The hotel is conveniently located just a short drive from the wedding blacksmith & gateway to the highlands. The rooms, though a bit tired-looking, were clean and tidy with all the essentials for a night's stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly, offering amenities like a microwave and a small snack selection. The location is good for a stopover when traveling to the highlands, but may be too far from Blacksmiths for some. The dining experience was satisfactory, with room service available. Overall, a decent option for a transit stay.
The hotel is conveniently located just off the motorway, offering a quiet, clean, and comfortable stay. The rooms could use a bit more cleaning, but overall, it's a good choice for a stopover.
The hotel was comfortable and clean, perfect for a short stay attending a wedding. Easy check-in and out process, good value for money. The rooms were basic but adequate for our needs, and both the room and public areas were well-kept and fresh. The location was super convenient for our trip, suited our needs, and was close to services. However, the dining options were limited, and there were no croissants available. The staff were helpful and accommodating, and the bed, although comfortable, was a bit wobbly.
